Owen Rabbit is a 24-year-old electronic musician, singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist who resides in Melbourne. His infatuation with the genre grew as he started studying jazz and classical music theory at university. During this time, he began creating his own electronic sounds using his laptop and self-created field recordings. It wouldn’t be long before his academic worlds and doof experiences began to merge in his own music.
With a few locally praised singles under his belt, Owen’s world would change with the release of his breakthrough single ‘Holy Holy’. The song was premiered via highly respected US-based tastemaker blog The Fader. Following on from the premiere, the blogosphere embraced ‘Holy Holy’ with open arms, including support from heavyweights Indie Shuffle, DIY Mag and Pigeons & Planes. Following on from the online success, the track received strong support via radio including BBC1 (UK), triple j (AUS), Apple Music’s Beats 1 with Ellie Goulding and was featured on Spotify’s playlist ‘Fresh Finds’. The songs success propelled Owen into a slew of opportunities.

Today, he’s unveiled his latest track, “Denny’s”. Consequence of Sound writes, “The euphoric number finds Rabbit at his most vulnerable. His aching voice crawls over sanguine sounding vocal samples and synthesizer blurts. His own looped sighs and a twitching, minimalist percussion stumble anxiously forward through the song’s rising action. It’s a harrowing and tender ode to feeling out of place and panicked, something the artist had to go through himself to come to this point.”
His debut EP release will be unveiled in early 2016.
