Scuzzed up drums and non-committal vocal drones are of course nothing new. A Place To Bury Strangers have had that area covered for some time now but this French three piece are sniffing around the same territory. They stand out from other nightmare-gaze acts by using distorted synth lines that reference both Giorgio Moroder and John Carpenter. The majority of the tracks are no-fi 2 minute thrashers which sound like they’re recorded on cassette, the cheap ones, not the nice ones that Aerial Pink uses.
It’s short, rude, kind of angry and smells of cigarettes and skinny guys. If it’s a thirty minute thrill you’re after then hop on, beyond this however, there may need to be a collective head scratch to come up with something which is less of a temporary thrill for future releases 7/10
