The single ‘Don’t Say you Love Me’ by reggae band By The Rivers is due for release on 1st October. The six piece band formed in 2010 in Leicester. The single was inspired by a text message from an adoring fan and the drummers’ response to her loved up appeal.
This is reggae but not as we know it. It has a funked up jazzy feel to the song and is as catchy as they come. An unrelenting cheerful song that is guaranteed to brighten up your day. The two B sides are pretty cool too. An interesting twist on ‘Vultures’ by Fun Loving Criminals and an acoustic version of their first single ‘One Word’ which originally reached number 21 in the iTunes reggae singles chart in 2011. 7.5/10
