The Swedish sister duo Caviare Days, fronted by Lina & Maja Westin, are all about authenticity and demeanour. Their latest single called “Who Deprived You Of Your Smile?” shows they are tough, mean business, have got plenty of attitude to go around and you will listen to what they have got to say… Or sing…
“Their 60s-inspired psychedelic rock is as refreshing as it is really, really good.” – The Guardian
“…a modern re-imagining of the groovy summer of love, I’m-seeing-trails-man music of the late-’60s…” – Spinner
Produced by Mats Björke of Mando Diao and Jorge Elbrecht of New York based Violens, the song begins comfortably with a steady beat and hooky bass riff. It instantly sets a boisterous yet contained pace from start to finish. The powerfully performed vocal lines sound as though they were recorded in the same LA studios, which brought the world Fleetwood Mac, and the Bangles. The retro sounding Vox Continental organ and guitar solos in the middle 8 take you on a psychedelic journey through time whilst haunting your ears with a hypnotising piece of music.
Honed, honeyed, eerie and rough around the edges “Who Deprived You Of Your Smile?” does not hold back and neither should you. Conclusion? Press. Play. Now.
