Fresh from his appearance on Later… with Jools Holland this week (and again tonight), CHARLES BRADLEY will return to the UK this summer with two special festival shows. In 2011, at the age of 62, Charles’ released his debut album "No Time For Dreaming", the culmination of a lifetime of paying dues, having nomadically laboured for decades at various day jobs from Maine to Alaska – singing and performing in his spare time – before re-settling in his home-town Brooklyn and eventually finding a musical home at Daptone off-shoot Dunham Records.
Since its release, Charles and his band the Extraordinaires have toured every corner of the globe to ecstatic fan reactions and rave reviews, don’t miss them when they return to the UK to play:
30th June – London, Blues Fest
1st July – Bristol, Grillstock
Charles’s life story and rise is so captivating a documentary has been made about it in the States and premiered at SXSW this year, watch the trailer here http://www.charlesbradleyfilm.com
"Bradley has all the marks of the soul greats who have gone before him; the testifying smart of Syl Johnson, the grit and gusto of Otis Redding, the raw power of James Brown, the smoulder and shudder of James Carr.. an intoxicating sound" MOJO****
