CYMBALS SHARE NEW VIDEO FOR ‘TALK TO ME’ VIA THE FADER
NEW TOURDATES CONFIRMED FOR SPRING, INCLUDING LONDON SHOW AT THE LEXINGTON ON 7TH APRIL
CYMBALS have shared a brand new video for recent single ‘Talk To Me’. The video, premiered by The FADER, was directed by Paddy Power and features a heartfelt, almost confrontational performance by frontman Jack Cleverly. Indeed, The FADER called it“beautifully awkward” in their piece on the video.

“There’s something a little aggressive and direct in the phrase ‘Talk To Me’, it’s a demand made of the other, of the lover,” he explains. “There’s a parallel with the spirit of the chorus to our song Natural World (“I don’t know enough about you to be kind to you”). The direction of the video meant that I had to stare directly on and kind of chant these words at the camera. It felt like the right way to portray these kinds of words, the right attitude in which to sing them.
“There are many images or phrases that came to me as part of a feeling related to this continuing theme (love and communication), that I cannot necessarily piece together easily. This theme of the failure of language and difficulty of communicating love or understanding in this way is in a lot of our songs.
CYMBALS have confirmed fresh tour dates for the spring. They’re set to play The Lexington on 7th April, announced in the wake of a triumphant sold out show last week in the capital, as well as shows in Birmingham and Cardiff.
13 March – Hare & Hounds, Birmingham
14 March – Buffalo Bar, Cardiff
07 April – The Lexington, London
‘Talk To Me’ – a mainstay of BBC Radio 6 Music’s playlist this winter – can be found on the ‘What Eternity’ 7″, out now on Tough Love. It, along with B-side ‘Innocence’, was produced by Dreamtrak and mixed by Dan Rejmer.
