Dear Superstar are a band I have heard of mainly through internet buzz and through constant facebook event invites where these guys are featured as support acts to major rock bands (Soil and Puddle Of Mudd) .
Where to start? , There’s no beating around the bush here, it’s straight up in your face rock and roll with a new edge. They have the essential ingredients that are needed for a rock and roll song. Heavy guitars, a tightly knit rhythm section and a catchy chorus hook as well as a killer rock vocal.
The single itself is the only track which speaks volumes. This band are so confident that they don’t feel the need for any B-side which I admire. “Our City Sleeps” is a definite keeper and hopefully it’s the start of bigger thing for Dear Superstar.
With a look of a modern day Motley Crue (with less drug abuse) and a sound that isn’t too distant from them also the guys in Dear Superstar are onto a winning formula. 8.5/10
