Zealyn Releases Single; Announces Album
February 27, 2016 (Los Angeles, CA) — Alternative artist Zealyn has announced the release of her debut single, “Talk:Listen,” unveiling the song to her fans yesterday. Now available to stream at SoundCloud and Vimeo, “Talk:Listen” will be released at all digital stores on March 4, with Limbic System due out this summer.
Produced and co-written by Copeland’s Aaron Marsh, Limbic System, embodies a new direction for the Los Angeles-based artist. “After three years of being a pop artist, I was craving more creativity in my music,” reflects Zealyn. “I wanted to experiment more and create a sound of my own. Aaron brought each idea of mine to life, and made it more than I imagined. Working with him for two months in the studio is where I discovered my sound.”
The brain’s limbic system is a network of nerves that is primarily responsible for our emotional life. Zealyn says she chose Limbic System as the title for this release because, “When I write songs, I tend to focus more on what I’m thinking and feeling at a certain point in time, rather than what’s actually happening around me. The album paints a picture of what goes on in my head, and how I perceive and process life.” She goes on to say that, “Each song captures a different emotion, so when I read about the part of the brain called the limbic system, it fascinated me and seemed to sum up how I wrote this album.”
