DIET. Release Second Single ‘The Rip’
Having strolled into the spotlight in October with their first single ‘Your House’, DIET. have now shared the second instalment of their debut EP, with‘The Rip’.
Once again the 5-piece offer an absolute ear-worm of a melody, with Andy Taylor’s opening riff enough alone to have you returning for further listens. It is the pace of DIET’s jangle rock that separates them, and this is once again on display through both the bass line and delightfully off beat drums.
Their new single, The Rip, sets out to further cement their fresh take on jangle and surf pop, as well as more crooning vocals from Ben O’Loughlin. The song tells the story of Ben’s childhood in sleepy Strathmore in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.
Premiering on Broadsheet today, ‘The Rip’ was engineered and mixed by DIET. and mastered by Liam ‘Snowy’ Halliwell (Ocean Party, Snowy Nasdaq).
