Disclosure’s 2014 has started on an all time high as news of their Brit Awards nominations was announced last night. The Lawrence brothers were overwhelmed with the news that their #1 debut album ‘Settle’, released via PMR records last summer, was given the nod in the much coveted MasterCard’s British Album of the Year category.
“Absolutely chuffed to bits. To be nominated just for one Brit would be amazing, but four is just ridiculous! Thank you very very much!”
“When we wrote our album we didn’t think we’d be nominated for anything, let alone FOUR Brit awards!”
They were also nominated in both British Group and British Breakthrough Artist as well as their massive single White Noise featuring AlunaGeorge being named one of the Best Single’s of the year.
A total of 4 nominations for the young brothers see’s the newcomers lead the way alongside the likes of Bastille and One Direction in the shortlist announced yesterday.
Disclosure are currently touring the US once again – with 3 nights at Terminal 5 in NYC next weekend before they look towards the Grammy’s at the end of the month where their album is up for Best Dance/Electronica album.
In other huge US news, the boys will return to Coachella for the second year running to play the festival in Palm Springs this coming spring. Their performances last year packed out the huge dance tent as they closed both weekends n the Sunday night, prompting an almost instant re-booking for the boys for 2014.
