‘Idol’ is the third release from Hull’s hottest new export, Fronteers – a band destined for much notoriety as they make it a trio of good single releases. The spring single was produced by Cam Blackwood, ‘Idol’ is described as a “reverb rock thumper with a deeper psychedelic feel” in partnership with a northern drawl more akin in Lancashire than East Yorkshire, “It’s about when you’ve been over thinking something; sending yourself mad” explains vocalist Andy Towse.
With labels lining up to court them, 2016 looks set to be an exciting year for a band, so it’s no brainer to suggest more from Fronteers in following months. however ‘Idol’ will keep us warm until the Spring truly arrives. 7.8/10
