Released through Handsome Dad Records. Single Launch Show – May 29 at St Pancras Old Church
With their debut single ‘Sap Solid/Acacia’, Fun Adults introduced their inventive and sonically textured approach to song craft, equally informed by pop sensibilities and an exploratory approach to production and mood. The Leeds via the West Country four piece now return with new double a-side single ‘For Water/Peek And Punch’, released May 27th on new label Handsome Dad Records.
The new single sees the band confidently elaborating on the intriguing emotional landscape and accomplished musicianship at the heart of their craft. ‘For Water‘ showcases naturally flowing musical agility, deceptively kicking off to a clangor of Western guitars before opening into a moonlit shuffle of slinky, hymnal melody and spidery keyboards and guitars. ‘Peek And Punch’ is haunted by jazz bar theatre, a lyrical croon set to the backdrop a ghostly choir, chiming guitars and raw, swing-infused percussion.
Extending their aesthetic with distinctive animation and hand-drawn visuals, the artwork for the single and upcoming video were created by members of the band, acting as a self-sustained creative hub.
Already proving to be an engaging live prospect with enthusiastically received first shows, Fun Adults will be marking the release with a single launch show incorporating special visual elements on May 29th in the atmospheric setting of St Pancras Old Church.
The single will be available digitally and on a limited run of 150 7″ vinyl copies.
