Fuzz Club releases "The Singapore Sling" 8th LP (Psych-Shoegaze) – OUT TODAY!!!
After their Airwaves Festival showcase in 2007, Pitchfork defined them as “a monomaniacal Icelandic shoe gazer band, doing their best Brian Jonestown Massacre impression … so loud that they’re audible halfway to the exquisite old church Frikirkjan”. Today they are celebrating their 14th anniversary with a new amazing Rock & Roll record.
SINGAPORE SLING RELEASE “THE TOWER OF FORONCITY”

Now celebrating their 14th anniversary, the Icelandic Psych veterans, “Singapore Sling” are releasing their 8th album, “The Tower Of Foroncity”, on the 15th of November.
Their career started in Reykjavík in 2000, with their first record, “The Course Of Singapore Sling”, released in 2002 via Hitt Records in Europe and Stinky Records in the US. As Henrik Björnsson, the mind behind the band, remembers: “we named it ‘The Course Of’ because of the bad luck and freaky incidents that surrounded the recordings. The course went on and so we did”. As Henrik adds “the project was born out of love and hate: love of the Rock & Roll from the past, and hatred for the majority of the music around me”.
In 2006 they were among the bands who contributed to the soundtrack of the movie “Monks, The Transatlantic Feedback” together with the likes of Jon Spencer, Solex, The Gossip, Mouse On Mars, The Fall and Psychic TV, to mention a few.

The new songs were written and recorded at Henrik’s home studio in winter 2011/2012 and in February/March 2014. To the band’s front-man, “Foroncity” is a made up word that means “ridiculousness” and “adversity” at the same time, in other words “so much adversity that it’s just ridiculous”. “Foroncity levels have been extremely high this year” and Henrik adds: “The Tower of Foroncity is endless, it goes on and on and on, and when you think you are at the top you really are at the bottom”. Such statement is not a surprise, as it comes from the man who named his project after an obscure 90s film by Nikolai Nikoladis: a perverse and dark movie about a man who has sex with a corpse.
The 12th LP of the band is released by Fuzz Club Records on 750 limited edition vinyl and on CD.
