New London Show 19 July, Southseafest 15 September, autumn release due.
“They’ve been touted by a few as the best kind of female-led dirty rock’n’roll that they’ve heard, and this is a sentiment we can seriously get behind.” (This Feeling). Now is the time to catch this cool outfit. Think of Quentin Tarantino’s 90′s, a cool hip soundtrack featuring the early 60′s surf rock group The Centurians with the stage presence of a late 1970′s Debbie Harry, throw in some grunge and a modern rock twist and your close to describing their stand-out, punchy tunes. Gem has a diamond stage presence. Like their music, her dynamic vocals easily weave from delicate sensitivity to a fully charged rock offering somewhere between Hope Sandoval and Janis Joplin.
19th July, London Bar Music Hall, 134 Curtain Road, EC2A 3BX (live music 8-11pm, DJs until 1am)
Getting set for releasing and touring, Gem And The Deadheads will also play Southseafest on 15th September.
A good reason to attend, it convinced all of us at With Guitars anyway.
