Girls in Synthesis release their debut AA single ‘The Mound/Disappear’ today. Since playing their riotous debut shows in London last September, the group have established a firm reputation as a live sonic attack on the senses. Shows with Cherry Glazerr, comrades in arms (and Fat White Family side project) Revenue and a particularly intense show for the elite punk promoters DIY Thursdays have solidified their place as intense outcasts on the London circuit.
The release represents the band’s first ever recordings, capturing their live energy and relentlessness. ‘Disappear’ sees the band apply a metronomic, lopsided groove to their splintered guitars. Am approach as successful in appeal as a few fore-runners found. Carried along by a thick bass lines and tight vocals.
A solid single release both sides are worthy, strewn with song-writing appeal, There is room for the confinement and claustrophobia take on modern life, even if you don’t subscribe, live they still blow you away. On the ‘The Mound/Disappear’ record Girls in Synthesis shine up pretty good as well. 8/10
