Wow, did someone open a window and let a violent ice laden breeze through here? Nah thought not, it’s Swedish five piece Here Is Your Temple’s debut EP.
Reminiscent of Curve’s Toni Halliday on a moodier moment, Emily McWilliam’s detached emotion, sometimes little more than a whisper is perfect foil for the urgent fuzz base and moog organs of this debut EP’s title track, a track so preposterous that the only thing to do is grab it with both hands and cherish its brilliance.
Elsewhere, ‘Once Rich’ is a synth filled dream full of optimism and big ideas, ‘Say Hey’ has the same kind of cinematic glory Arcade Fire entered this world with and whispered closer, ‘Daniel’, is reminiscent of the Wickerman soundtrack as played by The Banshees at the beginning prior to twisting into a thrilling krautgaze closing two minutes. One EP, five unmissable tracks, album NOW please. 9/10
