Sage describes the meaning of ‘Nuff Ish On My Mind’ as being, “all about how we suffer from our egos. We shouldn’t be so caught up in ourselves and just enjoy the now and let life take you where you’re meant to go. All we should be doing is what makes us smile and laugh. Make mistakes, be wrong, learn from your experiences, pick yourself up and crack on. Nobody cares if you fall over, everybody just wants you to get back up. Control your ego and don’t let it control you.”
The summer of 2014 saw the release of their debut self-titled EP which was described by Noisey as, “stretching the sides of what Hip Hop can be,” and Pigeons & Planes as being, “at the front of the UK’s new wave of experimental Hip Hop…Subculture Sage are genuinely interested in creating something new.” One of the singles on the EP reached number 6 in the UK Spotify Viral Charts and the EP garnered further support from The Line of Best Fit, iD, Wonderland, SBTV, NME, Rob Da Bank (BBC R1), Tom Ravenscroft (BBCR6) and John Kennedy (XFM).
