“Tell Me I’m Pretty” album trailer
Live report of their concert in New York October 10:
The rock band nominated for Grammys Cage the Elephant announces the release of their new album, “Tell Me I’m Pretty”, December 18 through RCA Records. “Tell Me I’m Pretty” was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys & The Arcs (Lana Del Rey, Ray LaMontagne, The Black Keys, The Arcs), mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Florence + the Machine) and recorded at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, near Bowling Green , the birthplace of the group.
With Tell Me I’m Pretty, Cage the Elephant go further than their previous 2013 album “Melophobia,” nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album – while remaining faithful to the music they were in their infancy.
“With this album we wanted to be more transparent,” explains the singer Matt Shultz. “We wanted to capture the feeling that each song vehicle, and the emotional reaction it causes, have an honest approach vis-à-vis music. “The result is impressive emotion and precision. They recorded most 10 tracks in one take, in order to recreate the raw energy that releases the band on stage.

“Melophobia” took the band to new heights, with two titles that have risen to the top of the Alternative charts, “Come a Little Closer” and “Cigarette Daydreams”. Rolling Stone described the album as “Cage the Elephant takes the garage rock of the 60’s, the punk of the 70’s and the alternative rock of the 80’s and gives them bizarre and fascinating forms. “Their 2011 album,” Thank You Happy Birthday “, was ranked # 2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was named “one of the best albums of the year”. Recognized as one of the most incredible rock bands live,Cage the Elephant went through the stages of the world alongside The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Muse and Queens of the Stone Age.
