LEW – ‘Lights On’
released today 29 January
first single to be taken from her forthcoming
album ‘Black Feathers’ due out on 22 April 22.
LEW is the singer and guitarist Sara Lewis, who was born and grew up in Roskilde, Denmark.
Her debut EP, ‘Drenched in Night’ came out in October 2013. Now her debut album ‘Black Feathers’ is ready and due for 22 April release. Like the EP, the debut album has been created in collaboration with her old band colleague and friend Anders Wallin.
LEW’s sound is sizzling, dark and spherical landscapes; electronic, noisy and guitar borne songs in a hybrid of singer-songwriter and expressive art rock on rolling beats with deep bass and analogue synthesizers.
Jonas Bang created the video for ‘Lights On’.
About ‘Lights On’, Sara says:
“It’s about the silence just after a huge downslide. A showdown, a disagreement. About wanting to be in the light, about waiting and letting things come and allowing time to speak.
‘Stars light on a thousand songs’, the endless possibilities lying just at our feet, about how we choose what we feel drawn to and are insatiable for a never ending more. About not losing ourselves in causes or stories, but to be in the present and see what comes”.
