INTRODUCING SINGER / SONGWRITER SAM FENDER
“PLAY GOD” IS SAM FENDER’S POWERFUL
SELF RELEASED DEBUT SINGLE
“Sam Fender’s “Play God” is hard-hitting indie rock with a social conscience..” The Line Of Best Fit
This introduction to 21-year-old Sam Fender is only a glimpse into his vast catalogue of emotive and poignant songs that demonstrate a uniquely affectionate collision of the euphoric and heartbreaking. Play God is Sam Fender’s powerful self-released debut single.
“Play God” is a distinctive record of confessional, raw and poised expressionism and storytelling virtue.
Working, and occasionally playing in an old fishing pub, Sam’s songwriting and innate character caught the attention of Ben Howard’s manager. With support across recording sessions produced by his mate Bramwell Bronte and mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys) Sam has undoubtedly matured into a remarkably talented singer songwriter for his generation; Sam pens passionately about disillusionment, love, raw relationships and the challenges youth face.
The accompanying video to follow was shot in Nova Scotia, directed by Richard Stewart (Ed Sheeran, Coldplay), choreographed by Holly Blakey (Florence & The Machine, Young Fathers) and starring multi award winning director David Wilson (Arcade Fire, Tame Impala).
“Play God” combines fury, aggression and precision and see’s Sam firmly on a mission to become the breakthrough artist of 2017.
