Run Fast Out 9/3 via TJR Records / Distributed via Dischord, FIRST EVER National Tour + Fun Fun Fun Fest This Fall
In 1997, legendary Riot Grrrl pioneer Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre) released a solo album under the name “Julie Ruin” with the intention of forming a band to perform the songs live. In 2010, with Le Tigre on hiatus, Kathleen began to build her dream team with whom she wrote and recorded The Julie Ruin debut album. Titled Run Fast, the album will be released September 3rd via TJR Records, distributed via Dischord.
We previously revealed the “Oh Come On” MP3– a raw punk track that immediately bursts the record open. Today, The Julie Ruin unleashes the colorful “Oh Come On” video (directed by Erin Greenwell), filled with unstoppable rock ‘n’ roll energy that challenges its viewers not to get up out of their seats & rock out alongside the band. Packed with the band’s signature unadulterated spunk, the video contains boundless exuberance complete with a tongue-in-cheek punk attitude. Check out the “Oh Come On” video where it premiered with SPIN and as usual, below.
“Ms. Hanna, you have no idea how good it is to have you back.” – Rolling Stone
”…the inclusive titular invitation– plus featherlight sing-song notes and masculine shouts by her bandmates– puts the song square in 2013.” – Pitchfork
“Hanna is one of America’s greatest living rock performers.” – The New Yorker
“A Lo-Fi Tantrum” – SPIN
