Following huge worldwide success with their fifth consecutive number one album ‘Strangeland’, Keane are pleased to announce their UK & Ireland Arena tour beginning in November 2012.
Tickets are available in an exclusive pre-sale from keanemusic.com from 9AM, Wednesday 8th August for 48 hours with tickets going on general sale on Friday 10th August.
Keane’s fifth record sees them at the height of their career with unprecedented international success retaining their status as one of the biggest British bands in the world. The November Arena ‘Strangeland’ tour announcement comes ten years after their first ever band gig, at the Betsey Trotwood in London where they played to just 50 people.
Tim Rice-Oxley said, "We still find it amazing that we get to play those big gigs, and we never take it for granted. So we’ll be making these shows very special and doing our utmost to give every single person there an unforgettable night. Keane fans are the best in the world, always singing their hearts out, and we feel like our music is at its best when it is echoing around those big rooms and being sung by thousands of people – it’s a magical thing for us to be a part of and we can’t wait to experience it again."
Keane released ‘Strangeland’ on 7th May 2012, and entered the UK charts at number one to make it their fifth consecutive number one album, equaling Coldplay and Radiohead and beaten only by The Beatles. The album is already certified Gold and has remained in the UK Top 40 since it’s release 13 weeks ago. ‘Strangeland’ has debuted in the top ten in over twenty countries around the world. Previous albums released are ‘Hopes & Fears’ (2004); ‘Under The Iron Sea’ (2006), ‘Perfect Symmetry’ (2008) and the ‘Night Train’ EP (2010) which also topped the UK album charts.
Keane will release ‘Disconnected’ as their next single from ‘Strangeland’. Details to be announced.

"…what Keane perfect in these stadium-swelling anthems is the meticulous yet ineffable melodic progression that goes straight for the emotional reflex, defying you to listen… without shivering at their loveliness."
