UK Reggae upcomer Kiko Bun has shared a new video/track ‘Alipanga‘, featuring two of the coolest contemporary Jamaican musicians; Dre Island rapping and Winta on production duties. The track is a fresh taster of Kiko Bun’s authentic reggae sound, and an introduction of new music to come in 2016.

The track follows the release of Kiko Bun’s single ‘Sometimes’, which was Track of the Day at Radio 1 and playlisted by 1Xtra. Picking up where introductory single ‘Where I’m From’ left off, ‘Sometimes’ sees Kiko take a confident step forward.
The North-West-London-based songwriter and producer grew up obsessed with reggae and hip hop, immersing himself quickly into the capital’s ever-thriving subculture of musicians, MCs, DJs, shops bursting with revival Studio One 7”s and the all-important sound system mixtapes imported straight from JA. A stint sorting out the reggae section in Islington secondhand vinyl goldmine Flashback Records, while continually producing demos, led to ‘Where I’m From’and also sparked an extraordinary level of online interest. Following an extended trip to Jamaica in April to work on songs with big names in the scene like Alborosie and Winta, additional ringing endorsements have already come from many of Reggae’s biggest voices – including David Rodigan and Sean Paul.
From mods and skinheads with ska to punks’ love of dub, right up to jungle and dubstep, Jamaican music and sound system culture has long provided a deeply held fascination for successive generations of young Londoners – from which Kiko Bun has quickly emerged the freshest new voice.
