The two sing with a spare elegance that’s all the more breathtaking for seeming to come to them so naturally. Both Lily and Madeleine can sing powerfully, but you will find no show-off pyrotechnics here. They are not afraid of fragility or vulnerability. As with all the best family bands, their harmonies sound effortless, two distinct expressions of the same idea or emotion.
At just 16 and 19 respectively, their youth scarcely comes across in their tight, confident musical performances, but it does mean that those performances have been relatively rare. That’s changing this year, with a generous string of tour dates in the UK and in the US in the first half of the year.
UK Tour Dates:
Mon 10 Feb – Sneaky Pete’s – Edinburgh
Tue 11 Feb – Broadcast – Glasgow
Wed 12 Feb – The Castle – Manchester
Thu 13 Feb – St Pancras Old Church – London
Fri 14 Feb – The Birdcage – Bristol
Sat 15 Feb – Mike’s Frog Bar – Brighton

“Dovetailing vocal harmonies, bare-bones strings, guitar and piano folk-pop arrangements, and lyrics of keening candour, give their songs the pulling-on the-heartstrings simplicity that you would find in the work of Fleet Foxes and First Aid Kit.” The Sunday Times
“Teenaged sisters, heart-melting harmonies…” The Independent on Sunday
“mountain air-pure voices.” Guardian New Band of the Day
“earning comparisons to classic Laurel Canyon artists, Joni Mitchell, Carole King et al. Expect truly big things.” Elle
