It’s been an exciting few months for PMR’s artistic songstress Alyss, who has just revealed her new tribal sounding ‘Motherland’ EP being released via PMR.
Alyss is a classically trained singer/ songwriter who writes and self produces all her own material and artwork. Recent collaborations have included MJ Cole, and SG Lewis.
Her sound encompasses quality laid back soulful grooves to the more tribal dance influenced and initial track reveal from the ‘Motherland’ EP T S I E R.
Alyss describes writing the lead track Motherland as being like ‘…. a spiritual ceremony. It’s difficult to explain…but it was like this strong, matriarchal force came through and wouldn’t leave until I’d created the whole thing. It felt very channelled. There’s an ancient wisdom that has been lost from our modern day culture and it feels like Motherland came as a reminder, as a calling to remember, to reach in to that place so many have been disconnected from.’
T S I E R peaked at #29 in the UK Spotify viral chart and has picked up strong early radio support and airplay, having been Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, Rinse FM’s Track of the Week and also play listed at both Rinse FM and Reprezent, plus Radio 1 plays coming in from Clara Amfo, Huw Stephens, DJ Target and Toddler T (1xtra).
With over 400K combined streams for her previous debut release ‘Answers’ EP, which was also #1 in Jamz Supernova’s EP top 5, Alyss has also achieved international radio plays in both Germany & Paris.
Alyss recently performed live alongside Skott and Sampha at Annie Mac Presents at the Jazz Café and she will also be playing live at the Pitchfork Festival in Paris and The Bermondsey Social Club in London on November 30th tickets available here
