NEW SINGLE ‘NEW YORK VS PARIS’
“The Langley sister’s ‘Everlasting Road’ is a brooding, storm-tossed, Fleetwood Mac-like stunner”
(The Sunday Times)
Already tipped by Radio X as one of the Top 20 Best New Artists for 2017, new wonder women on the block, LOCK are your new favourite band. Coming across like a Twin Peaks Shangri Las, Lock release their new single ‘New York vs Paris, ’ a hypnotic pop paean, to the bands favourite two cites, on Friday 9th June. ‘New York vs Paris’ was co written and produced by Ed Harcourt and is the follow-up single to ‘Everlasting Road.’
LOCK are: Edie Langley (vocals; guitar), Gita Langley (vocals; guitar; synths) and Gabi Woo (drums). Leaving behind a childhood of communes, ashrams, six siblings and their Australian parents, sisters Edie and Gita left rural Buxton for the Bright lights of London. They turned their backs on their classical music training and began exploring the darker elements of their unusual past, setting their story to brooding jagged pop. Six months ago the sisters met Gabi Woo at a party. She was a tiny weird thing who barely said a word but sitting at the drums she was like a ninja on speed. They had found the one and LOCK was born.
Their first single ‘Click’ was featured on the runway at a Topshop catwalk show at London Fashion Week and the band have recently been featured in Nuit Magazine thanks to a collaboration with Religion Clothing.
LOCK have been writing and recording with Dimitri Tikovoi (Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko), Neil Athale (Ella Eyre, Becky Hill), Ed Harcourt (Paloma Faith, Lissie) and most recently Olly Burden (The Prodigy).
Following the success of their recent UK tours with The Libertines, Reverend and the Makers, Ed Harcourt, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Carl Barat and The Jackals, LOCK are performing the following shows over the summer.
6th Derby – The Venue (with Carl Barat & The Jackals)
