Maya Galattici release new album ‘Exogen Tantra’
out 6 April 2015 on Garage Records
Maya Galattici is a rock band from Italy. Their music can generally be defined as psychedelic rock, but they also mix in elements from retro Italian sondtracks, electronica, noise, pop and many other musical styles. They write and record almost all of their music by themselves. The band was born as a duo in 2010 from the ashes of Chinasky and led by co-founders and writers / musicians / polyinstrumentalists Alessandro Antonel and Marco Pagot.
Their name refers to theories about Mayan’s contacts with alien visitors, ancient space astronauts and about the origin and evolution of life on planet earth. Their musical sound draws from a wide range of influences (most notably ’60s and ’70s psychedelic rock), multi-layered arrangements, echo vintage pop ballads and feelings of free falling. Galactic!
