The National celebrate their first Number 1 in the UK with their seventh studio album, Sleep Well Beast, out now and available on the band’s website on CD, digital and double LP formats.
“Thanks UK for our first number one record! It means a lot. We are number three in America. Which also means a lot :)” – The National
Further afield, The National has topped the album charts in Ireland and Canada, with Sleep Well Beast making the Top 4 in the USA, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Finland.
Produced by The National‘s own Aaron Dessner with co-production by co-members Bryce Dessner and Matt Berninger, Sleep Well Beast was mixed by Peter Katis and recorded at Long Pond – Aaron Dessner‘s Hudson Valley, NY studio – with additional sessions in Berlin, Paris and Los Angeles.
The National land in the UK this week for eight sold-out shows, as part of a world tour that takes in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. For tour information head to the band’s website.
