SWIMM just released their 3rd single “Belly” from the upcoming “Beverly Hells” EP. This one shows yet another side of the band with a sound somewhat reminiscent of early 90’s indie rock like The Pixies and Dinosaur Jr.
SWIMM Celebrates New EP Announcement with Infectious New Single Premiere on Noisey!
“A delightful trance of pop-hooks and swirling textures” – Noisey
Just ahead of their performance at Noisey LA’s “TOO FAR” series on August 11th, psych-pop duo SWIMM has teamed up with Noisey to premiere “Belly”, the infectious third single from the Beverly Hells EP out later this month (August 28th, 24west Records). “Belly” is yet another shining example of the band’s ability to balance the ethereal and the temporal. With huge, sweeping guitars and reverby howls to accompany an arena-ready hook, “Belly” is a modern take on the early 90s indie rock heyday of The Pixies and Dinosaur Jr. You can stream it now on the band’s Soundcloud and purchase it on iTunes.
SWIMM will be playing a few key dates in their adopted hometown of Los Angeles this summer prior to properly kicking off their west coast run with Canadian noir-pop rock outfit Young Empires in September. The band will then make an appearance at CRSSD Festival in San Diego alongside The Flaming Lips, TV On The Radio and Big Data on October 10th before spending the next month weaving their way across the United States and Canada with Bright Light Social Hour. Make sure to check in with the band here to get tickets to see them when they’re in your town!
SWIMM, in case you’re not yet familiar, is an LA-by-way-of-Florida pysch-pop duo currently working towards the release of their sophomore EP. The band’s founding members Chris Hess and Adam Winn left the sunshine state to head out west last year in search of a different perspective for the music they create. The band released an ambient folk gem in “Beverly Hells” earlier this year and followed that up recently with the more pyshedelic “All The Time”. The band has been garnering a huge buzz both on the Internet and around their adopted home city of Los Angeles.
With the band taking their explosive live show on a full national tour this fall and releasing the “Beverly Hells” EP this month it’s only a matter of time before they’re no longer JUST Los Angeles’ favorite Space Coast natives. Full dates below!
