Congo-born, Peckham-raised artist Omo Frenchie presents ‘Bêtise’ — the first material to surface from his forthcoming debut EP, ‘Diamond In The Dirt’.
With a series of underground hits already under his belt — most notably ‘Cele’ ft. Naira Marley and ‘Makelele’ — as well as collaborations with Iray Movement and Kwamz & Flava, Omo Frenchie is the face of a new wave of underground music coming out of the UK.
Bound by an appreciation of grime’s stark and fierce lyricism but written to Afrobeat rhythms, Frenchie’s music is also laced with French slang, setting him out as one of the UK’s most unique and absorbing new talents — with ‘Bêtise’ a primer to his debut EP on South London label, Cotch International.
More details on ‘Diamond In The Dirt’ will be revealed in the coming weeks.
