Along with this, Perfume Genius has launched a dance contest for ‘Wreath’, with support from WeTransfer. Fans are invited to upload videos of themselves dancing to the song, and Perfume Genius will be rewarding his favourite dancer by recording a cover of their favourite song and sending a special package of ‘witchy surprises’. Full details can be found HERE.
Bodily expression, and his relation to his own body, are hallmarks of Perfume Genius’s lyrics and performance, as in his recent video, the Floria-Sigismondi-directed ‘Die 4 U‘.
Perfume Genius, aka Seattle based musician Mike Hadreas, will be touring the UK and Europe in November, following a run of US dates with The xx, including his biggest headline show to date at London’s Roundhouse on November 5, in a specially curated early doors event. The tour will see him play songs from his new album No Shape, which has cemented itself as one of the critically regarded releases of the year, set to the backdrop of his most widescreen and expansive stage show to date.
