Periphery II is the second full length release from Washington DC based math rock metal monsters Periphery. Formed in 2005 Periphery have been cutting their teeth for seven years as well as constant touring but with this release they are set to take on the world.

With another album consisting of math rock brilliance Periphery are proving themselves a force to be reckoned with in the alternative scene. From beginning to end this album reeks of musical genius and uniqueness.
Having toured the world several times and supported acts such as Dream Theatre it seems as if there is no stop for Periphery at all. They have graced the stages of huge music festivals through out the world and are set for a European tour come October. Periphery are by no shadow of a doubt one of the hardest working bands of our times.

Describing math rock to a normal being is difficult and even more difficult to put into words so just imagine rock music with no boundaries whatsoever and you have it in a nut shell right there. Imagine a thick wall of guitars, drums that don’t let up and an outrageously good vocal line and this is what Periphery serve up in fourteen tracks n this release.

If you like bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Fall of Troy and Dream Theatre then this is for you. 8.75/10
