The Burden of Sorrow is to be the debut release from death metal three piece Pyrithion and it shall be available world wide through Metal Blade Records on April 16th. Pyrithion are three men who sound more intense than a bar brawl and could quite possibly be louder than an atomic bomb.
After toying with line ups for a while now Pyrithion have finally sorted their act out, pulled their joint fingers out of their butts and made some awesome tunes. Technical, tasty and down right disgusting just like all death metal should be when made correctly.
The three tracks included on this single may only reach the twelve minute mark approximately but from start to finish Pyrithion make their intent clear. They are here to play some in your face metal music and if you don’t like it then a big FUCK YOU, goes out to you.
Pyrithion have a well structured base with a wall of guitars and bass on top of these foundations that helps to create a positively fresh sound that isn’t dull and drab like the rest of the current death metal scene. The final track on this single “Rest In The Arms of The Paralyzed” shows this in all of its glory when it goes from a beautiful guitar solo to one of the most intense breakdowns I’ve ever heard, and trust me I’ve heard a lot of fucking breakdowns.
All in all Pyrithion are much more than a death metal band. They are three serious death metal musicians who have taken the time to perfect their craft and haven’t dove straight in. 8.2/10
