Riton returns today with new single ‘Money’, the massive follow-up to 2016’s anthemic ‘Rinse & Repeat’ – which saw Riton nominated for a Grammy Award, go top 10, surpass 28 million streams and was the third most played independent track on Radio 1 of 2016.
Drawing on an eclectic array of influences – from acid house to afrobeats – ‘Money’ is an incredibly confident and colourful step forward. Collaborating with two of afrobeats’ brightest stars in Mr Eazi & Davido, and teaming up with Nigeria’s Grammy nominated Kah-Lo once more, the feelgood results are about living life to the fullest with whatever money that you have.
Describing ‘Money’, Riton says – “this is one of the tracks I’m most proud to say I’ve been a part of. I’ve got to say a massive thanks for Kah-Lo’s immense knowledge and for introducing me to the masterminds Eazi and Davido – as soon as they jumped on it was really happening! I’m over the moon to have had the opportunity to collaborate with all these amazing people. I hope everyone has as much fun dancing to it as we did making it.”
Riton first emerged with the Ed Banger crew as one half of Carte Blanche with DJ Medhi, their seminal single ‘Gare Du Nord’ becoming the biggest-selling Ed Banger release of all time. Additional musical endeavours are as varied as co-producing Mark Ronson’s track ‘Daffodils’ with Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker to taking part in krautrock collective Die Verboten alongside SoulWax.
Rinse & Repeat was one of the most exciting, ubiquitous club crossover moments of 2016 – and with ‘Money’, Riton looks set to do it all again.
