THE SHACKELTONS RETURN WITH RECORDS ON APRIL 22
PENNSYLVANIA BAND JOINS LIVE’S THINK LOUD ENTERTAINMENT FOR FIRST ALBUM IN SIX YEARS
Jan. 29, 2014, York, Pa. – The Shackeltons return with Records, the Chambersburg-based band’s first new album in six years, via Live’s Think Loud Entertainment on April 22.
“We are ecstatic about being a part of the Think Loud team. The Shackeltons have continued on due to the goodness of generous friends who have either recorded or purchased our music,” said singer/songwriter Mark Redding. “The future of music is in the hands of the receive. We are all looking forward to what the future holds.”
The Shackeltons self-titled release of 2008 was the band’s last offering. The Shackeltons earned jaw-dropping accolades from NPR (“I recently saw The Shackeltons at the South by Southwest music festival… I probably saw a hundred bands that week, but none were as impassioned as this one.” – Bob Boilen/NPR), Spin (“What makes bands like Pixies, Fugazi, and Les Savy Fav so exciting — and what makes the Shackeltons similarly thrilling — is a breathlessness, a creeping sense that crouched behind the towering melodies and heard-’em-before razor guitars, there’s complete breakdown.”) and Rolling Stone (“…instead of pretending there are a hundred thousand good new releases, …check out this wild-eyed fusion of Pixies and early White Stripes. The good news: the whole record is this freakish, this thrilling.”).
Redding took time off from music following the passing of his mother after a protracted battle with cancer. He began playing again in 2011, recording Records independently before joining Think Loud Entertainment’s roster. Think Loud Entertainment was founded by the members of multi-platinum band Live in February of 2013.
The Shackeltons will announce a North American tour soon with the band’s next live performance slated for Feb. 8 at The Pike in Gettysburg, Pa.
