Much has been said about the North of England. Once the heartbeat of UK industry full of men and woman who worked hard and played harder, a place with a culture that give birth to musical greats such as The Beatles, Oasis and The Stone Roses. The industry may have been shipped out but the culture and spirit has hung on and it seems Manchester has given us another band to get excited about, Slydigs are a four piece who ooze classic rock and mix it with some Manchurian swagger to deliver a sound that can only be described as British rock and roll.
Slydig are set to release the second single from their EP ‘How Animal Are You’ on 9th June, we were lucky enough to get our hands on a copy and it’s fantastic. The track is titled ‘Give It Up Brother’ and it shows off what the band has to offer, it’s a track that screams of British rock history from The Rollings Stones to Oasis with a blues rhythm that kicks it up from good to great. This is a track that can cross over all the sub-genres of rock and keep even the toughest fan happy. The British rock scene is an exciting place right now and Slydig are leading the way with this release. 7.8/10
