Stream: ‘Murder Cries’, Debut Album Out Now on Houndstooth
Snow Ghosts, the duo of producer Throwing Snow (Ross Tones) and vocalist Augustus Snow (Hannah Cartwright) have announced their first full-length gig, having performed individual tracks as a duo at the Houndstooth launch parties at Boiler Room and fabric, as well as acoustically alongside string players on BBC Radio 2.
Taking place on Thursday 5th September, the gig will see the duo accompanied by the aforementioned string duet in the most complete Snow Ghosts live show to date. The venue is the appropriately intimate and unique St Pancras Old Church in London. Advance tickets are available here.
Houndstooth are offering fans the opportunity to win 5 pairs of tickets for the show. To enter the competition, applicants simply need to submit their email address in the box here. Winners will be notified by email on or before Wednesday 4th September.
For a tantalising taster of the show, Snow Ghosts recently performed an exclusive live rendition on Dermot O’Leary‘s BBC Radio 2 show of album single ‘Murder Cries’.

“…brilliantly terrifying, and a very special and unique album” – The Arts Desk
“The album promises a trip rich in mystery and the most sumptuous kind of melancholy” – SPIN
“The traditional instruments and ambient electronica dovetail nicely, and the haunting vocals and song titles work well at bringing together the olde worlde and the modern” – The Guardian
“…a stunning success – and when layered with Cartwright’s voice it lifts A Small Murmuration to something quite special indeed” – Bowlegs
Crafted from a shared interest of the odd folk nature of Britain and the resultant dark strangeness, Throwing Snow and Augustus Ghost pool their individual inspirations, ideas and styles on ‘A Small Murmuration’, the first full-length album under their collaborative Snow Ghosts moniker. The music is brooding and at times imposing, yet sweepingly majestic throughout – Augustus Ghost’s rich vocals balance perfectly on Throwing Snow’s somber sonic creations, as hints of industry and mechanism are married with the organic, natural world.
