Amanda (Voice & Guitar) Jonathan (Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Vocals) Heather (Violin, Bass, Vocals) and Sophie (Drums, Viola, Vocals) all met through the Parsonage Choir. After being invited by Warren McIntyre to perform at the Tron Theatre, this impromptu four piece just clicked and after two more performances, the band’s lo-fi lush was born. The album was recorded in a tiny room, off Jonathan and Amanda’s kitchen. “Some nights the four of us would just cram into the room, put the lights down and record”. The album and single have an incredibly organic feel, sumptuously produced. It is both sparse and warm, haunting and reassuring, it is quite possibly one of the most beautiful records you will hear all year.
“Sweetest Moment” is the second single to be released by Last Night From Glasgow after last years debut “He Came Down”. The single will feature a video directed by Brian Sweeney and will be released worldwide on 23/06. To support this release Sister John will play an intimate gig at the home of Last Night From Glasgow. If you are interested in attending on 24 June then please drop us an email but be warned spaces are mighty mighty tight.
The album “Returned from Sea” will be released (under catalogue number LNFG8) on 15 September 2017. Two launch gigs are planned for 14 and 15 September at The Hug and Pint. Considerably more information will be forthcoming over the summer months. The album artwork will again be provided by Brian Sweeney
