TABLE SCRAPS ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE
AND NEW SINGLE ‘BAD FEELING’
Fuzz. Mayhem. Venom.
The new sensation hailing from Birmingham, Table Scraps, have announced the release of their debut album ‘More Time For Strangers’ on June 5th 2015, with a new single ‘Bad Feeling’ out on May 26th 2015.
Barely a year old, and yet the duo of Scott Vincent Abbott (formerly of The Big Bang) and Poppy Twist (formerly of Poppy & The Jezebels) have already developed a sizeable reputation for their fuzz and tape-echo drenched punk noise, built over a stand-up drum set and a single guitar fed through four amps.
The duo’s feverish live appearances last year rapidly led to shows with some of the UK’s most exciting acts, including Fat White Family, The Amazing Snakeheads, God Damn and YAK – as well as supporting U.S. acts King Tuff, The Garden and Kid Congo Powers.
And while their debut single release ‘Bug’ was a highlight of 2014 – coming in at just a minute and a half long (“because that’s all it takes”) and picking up widespread praise – now the band are set to release their full-blooded, fuzz-driven assault ‘More Time For Strangers’ this June, with a new single ‘Bad Feeling’ preceding the release this May.
12 tracks, 35 exhilarating minutes, and already sounding like a garage-influenced classic, instant album highlights include opener and previous single ‘Electricity’ (“How do you think I’m gonna live my life in a prehistoric land, we gotta have it, Electricity”); ‘Bad Feeling’ (“I’ve got a bad, bad feeling that everything is alright”); ‘I’m Not Interested In You’ (“I’ve got better things to do, than hear the news from Planet You”); and ‘Motorcycle (Straight To Hell)’ (“Devil’s blood for gasoline, prettiest thing I ever seen”).
The duo’s fierce DIY aesthetic led to the album’s production, artwork and forthcoming videos being a completely in-house affair. “We wanted to maintain creative control,” explains Scott, “And it gave us the time to figure out how to make the record dark and brooding, or screaming and explosive, in equal measure.”
One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be hard to keep these two quiet over the next year.
‘Bad Feeling’ is out on May 26th 2015 through Hells Teeth. ‘More Time For Strangers’ is released on June 5th 2015 as a limited edition 12” vinyl and digital download through Table Scraps’ own Hells Teeth imprint in the UK, and on cassette via Burger Records subsidiary Wiener Records in the UK and US.
A series of new live dates in support of the album release are to be announced shortly.
