Hailing from Cincinnati, The Tigerlilies harness a 60’s soul driven brand of post punk power pop, a crush of cross-genre blending sounds that the band hones.
Consisting of brothers Pat (vocals, guitar) and Steve (vocals, drums) Hennessy who are at the helm of band production, which includes Brian Driscoll (bass) and Brendan Bogosian (lead guitar), The Tigerlilies have worked hard to make a name for themselves. They have played at numerous shows around the Ohio area, performing as the supporting act for Violent Femmes, Joan Jett, Paul Weller, Guided By Voices, and Superchunk, while going on to attaining a loyal and large following along the way.
The band’s 7-inch single release, “Shipwrecked” / “Lovers Du” follows their 2016 critically acclaimed 123456 EP. Both the A-Side and B-Side contain a raw and edgy energetic vibe. With this amped up feel, the band takes things up to another notch with fuzzy guitar riffs and a psychedelic feel. The enthused performances offer distorted guitars with a punk finish.
The band’s vinyl single is packed with the rock/punk sensibilities that the Buzzcocks, Cheap Trick, and The Ramones are known for in their sound. Listeners will get to immerse themselves into the readily psych and 60’s garage rock in which The Tigerlilies have showcased in their ambitious catalog of four full lengths total. Jam-packed with a certain kind of raw energy, the single is out Feb. 17th. 7.7/10
