Tindersticks’ ‘The Waiting Room’, which is released on Jan 22nd via City Slang.
Throughout their two-decade career, Tindersticks have become known as masters of restraint and human emotion, led by the sophistication and rich baritone of Stuart Staples. On January 22nd via City Slang, the band will release The Waiting Room, their most elaborate and diverse album to date. It’s also an ambitious collaborative film project where each song on the album will be accompanied by a short film, and toured with a series of cine-film events.
Their first studio album since 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘The Something Rain’ (9/10 DiS, 8.1 pitchfork, 8/10 the Quietus, 8/10 DIY, 4/5 Guardian, 4/5 Independent on Sunday, 4/5 Uncut, 4/5 Q, 4/5 Observer) is the most ambitious, diverse and elaborate album you’ll have heard from Tindersticks in recent years. Two decades into their musical voyage Tindersticks, established masters of restraint and poetic human emotion, are a band now confidently creating the best songs of their career.
Watch We Are Dreamers (ft Jehnny Beth)

Not only an album, an ambitious collaborative film project also – each track is accompanied by a short film, a visual interpretation by it’s own director, featuring Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Claire Denis, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, Gregorio Graziosi, Richard Dumas and Gabriel Sanna.
‘The Waiting Room’ will be available as a limited edition CD/DVD, LP /DVD and very limited clear vinyl LP/DVD via City Slang on Jan 22nd2016. The release will be accompanied by a series of live cine-concert events including one at London’s Barbican. Details below.
