“The black-clad Hull group deal in a sneering, ferocious sucker-punch of punk-rock – a mission statement that’s perfectly presented in ‘Popular Music’” DIY
“If you want music that’s going to give you that get-up-and-go attitude, LIFE will certainly oblige – in oodles.” GigSoup Track of the Day
‘An anarchic piece of pop, weirdly uncompromising and addictive!’ Steve Lamacq – BBC6 Music
LIFE’s new single, “Popular Music” has been causing a fever on radio chalking up multiple spot plays on Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart) and is being relentlessly rinsed by Steve Lamacq on BBC6 Music. After a successful tour in January, LIFE are back on the road this week promoting the single with a series of headline shows in London and Birmingham before they return to Hull for their Pop Party.
” ‘Popular Music’ is a thunder-bug of visceral energy that’ll nuzzle its way under your skin. We made this cut-paste stop-motion video in our living room. Maybe it reflects the overexposure of celebrity culture and the endless stream of baffling bullshit that seeps into your bones. Maybe its just another stream of noise to stare at whilst you lay a turd.” – LIFE’s Mick

Collaborating again with Grammy winning producer Ian Dowling (recent producer of Bombay Bicycle Club, Wavves and The Orwells), Hull punks, LIFE, have made a new record that slams head on into the dirty girth of modern day, popular culture, whilst retaining a fair measure of its own raucous pop sensibility.
Last year saw LIFE work closely with BBC Introducing, capping off an extensive run of live dates (including Great Escape, Dot 2 Dot, Swn Festival, Liverpool Sound City and sell out supports with Palma Violets, Twin Peaks and Twin Atlantic) with a spot on the Introducing stage at Leeds & Reading Festival.
Returning to the live circuit this month, the band play shows in London, Birmingham and Hull.
2nd March – Sebright Arms, London
4th March – The Flapper, Birmingham
5th March – (Pop) Party @ Fruit, Hull
LIFE are brothers Mez (vox) & Mick (guitar) with Loz (bass) and Stew (drums).
