Born in Medellin, Colombia, Farina is a performer and songwriter with a unique ability to sing and rap while weaving dancehall, reggaetón, trap, rap, pop and folklore genres. Farina, which in Arabic means “unique,” draws inspiration from her eclectic heritage of Caribbean, Arabic, Chinese and Andean descendants. In 2005, Farina earned national recognition as a contestant on the reality talent show X Factor Colombia, finishing in third place. In 2011, Farina made her acting debut in the telenovela Tres Milagros, which was the most-watched series of the year in Colombia and also aired in Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and the U.S., introducing Farina to international audiences. Her videos have accumulated over 100 million views combined and have become popular fixtures on HTV, Latin America’s premiere video channel.
Farina has now recorded a brand new album, working in the studio alongside her mentor, musical godfather, legendary GRAMMY® Award winning megastar Wyclef Jean (Shakira, Fugees, Santana & Whitney Houston).  Acknowledging her unique artistic talents, Wyclef has taken her under his wing producing several tracks for her upcoming release helping to bring out her musical essence working on such jems as “Cassanova”, “Rub a Dub” and the folkloric “Aguacero de Mayo”.  Wyclef so intrigued with their work in the studio invited her to appear on the Spanglish Remix of his song, “Hendrix” and included her on his new EP J’ouvert on the song “Party Started” introducing Farina to new fans.
Voting for CBS.com’s Artist of Tomorrow will close on February 8 and the winner’s GRAMMY Live performance will be streamed on February 12 online at CBS.com and GRAMMY.com and across platforms through the CBS App.
