A crushing, ferocious affair, ‘Operator Hour’ blends elements of pummelling garage-rock, blues-inflected songwriting touches, gnawing guitar riffs, and feral drum patterns – all woven together to form something of the utmost quality.
The new video follows the band as they navigate their way through their hometown during various different (probably quite loud) taxi journeys.
You can almost feel the rumble beneath your feet, as Hello Operator begin to smash through the old cobbled streets of York, and out into the vicinity. Without a warning, the Yorkshire four piece invade your eardrums with their monstrous riffs, ferocious choruses and licks that leave you dripping for weeks.
As they embezzle your attention, you find yourself lost in the dark corners of the Louisiana swamps, humming those delta blue chimes, whilst the relentless iron fist of British rock ‘n’ roll thumps against the willows.
Hello Operator have already managed to bag slots at major festivals like Reading & Leeds Festivals, Isle of Wight Festival, with performances at Tramlines and Y Not Festival also confirmed for this summer. They’ve recently signed with Sony ATV Music Publishing, and have supported bands from the likes of Blossoms to Nothing But Thieves.
Having already seen comparisons to the likes of The Black Keys, the York four piece kicked off 2016 in style with the release of their debut single ‘Stephanie’, which was included in the Radio X‘s “5 Best New Songs of The Week”, and was featured on the BBC Radio 1 playlist during April, receiving daytime airplay from Greg James, Annie Mac, Clara Amfo & Adele Roberts.
A striking, and hugely confident offering, mixed by Grammy-award winning producer/mixer Andrew Scheps (Black Sabbath, Weezer, The Mars Volta) – ‘Operator Hour’ is out now on Rolla Records.
