2000 AD announces details of Thought Bubble ‘Juve Cube’

The official after-party of Vice Press art exhibition to feature live painting and music by 2000 AD superstars Simon Fraser, Boo Cook and Frazer Irving!

With a few weeks until the Thought Bubble festival begins its momentous celebration of comic art in Leeds, 2000 AD is bringing a slice of its 40th Anniversary of Thrill Power festival to Earthlets in Yorkshire!

The Juve Cube is a riotous celebration of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic coinciding with the opening of Vice Press Presents: Zarjaz! An Art Tribute to 40 Years of 2000 AD at The Gallery at Munro House on Duke Street.

The evening, taking place on Friday September 22nd, will be compared by Super Satanic Saturdays host Jason Atomic and features fan-favourite droids Frazer Irving (Batman & Robin), Simon Davis (Doctor Who) and Boo Cook (Elephantmen) live-painting along with music by Leeds-based band Cowtown, DJ Reg Jula and more to be announced!

Not only that but a specially-curated roster of the UK’s finest fantasy artists Crom, M.D. Penman and more will be drawing live! Add into the mix red-hot animated projections, the 2000 AD pop-up merchandise stand (complete with special exclusive items) and the opportunity to have your perp mugshot taken at the dedicated photo-booth, and it all adds up to a zarjaz grime-fest! For 2000 AD fans, it’s the perfect way to kick off the UK’s finest comic and sequential arts convention weekend!

The party runs from 8:30pm to late at Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen in Leeds City Centre and is supported by the Leeds Arts Union. Tickets are extremely limited, for over 18s only, and attendees to the 2000 AD Juve Cube will receive an exclusive Vice Press mini-print upon presenting their Juve Cube ticket at Zarjaz! An Art Tribute to 40 Years of 2000 AD.

Vice Press Presents: Zarjaz! An Art Tribute to 40 Years of 2000 AD will be on display at The Gallery at Munro House on Duke Street, Leeds from September 1st to September 30th 2017 with the Thought Bubble Exhibition Event taking place on Friday the 22nd of September, 7pm until 10pm.

There will be a truly staggering display of original tribute art and limited edition prints from the finest art droids to grace the pages of 2000 AD and the exhibition will feature the rare opportunity to witness some of contemporary comics’ biggest names deliver their own takes on classic 2000 AD characters. A must for posters and graphic art collectors as all of the unique work on display will be available to add to your collection.
