Today London-based artist Leo Bhanji shares his new single ‘Heathers’ and accompanying B-Side ‘Not Here To Save Anyone’. Following his debut EP No Guard, a defiant statement of intent from the rising star released earlier this year, the self-produced single ‘Heathers’ is another example of Leo’s genreless, intricate blend of pop, r’n’b and hip hop influences. Leo explains of the track, ‘I wrote Heathers after quickly watching a few romantic murder movies (hence the name) and that Angelo Badalamenti video where he’s like “the trees angelo”. I was working in a shipping container and wanting to make something expressly fictional, which isn’t my normal angle.” Leo shot and edited the accompanying music video for ‘Heathers’ with long term collaborator Nick Robins, and self produced the track from his home in Finsbury Park.

‘Heathers’ is released today following No Guard’s lead single, ‘Blade of Hope’, being made BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week, receiving a week of daytime plays on BBC Radio 1.
Leo Bhanji was born in LA and resides in London, where he produces songs from his bedroom. Previous singles ‘Heart of Gold’, ‘Nope!’ and ‘Blood & Guts’ released in 2019 drew the attention of Dirty Hit, as well as the likes of BBC Radio 1xtra, BBC Introducing, Complex, Highsnobiety, Pigeons and Planes, Dummy and more. His work this year with No Guard and now ‘Heathers’ cements Leo as one of the UK’s most exciting artists.
