Inspired by the likes of Pavement and Bombay Bicycle Club, second thoughts combine all the best elements of indie, pop and alt-rock in order to create a sound that feels instantly uplifting and engaging. Produced by The 1975’s Ross MacDonald and mixed by Iain Berryman (Wolf Alice), nicotine stains is a song about having known someone for a while and their personality slowly changing from who they used to be as a result of addiction. With a newly solidified line-up, nicotine stains displays a more advanced sound for the quartet, moving towards a more nineties alt-rock energy.
