ERASURE (Andy Bell and Vince Clarke) will release the deluxe 2CD expanded hardback book edition of their 1994 album I Say I Say I Say on 5 November 2021 and today share a previously unreleased mix of ‘I Love Saturday’ by Ian Levine: https://youtu.be/xeaMieSA_-o
I Say I Say I Say is the band’s sixth album, and on release became their fourth consecutive album to hit the #1 slot in the UK Charts. Produced by Martyn Ware, one of the founding members of The Human League and Heaven 17, it featured three Top 20 singles: the Top 5 ballad ‘Always’, pop anthem ‘Run To The Sun’ whose accompanying video featuring a then unknown Jason Statham and ‘I Love Saturday’.
The 32-track package, released by Mute BMG, is available as a hardback book with unseen photographs of the band by Douglas Brothers and new sleevenotes by Mat Smith. CD1 includes the original album alongside the six b-sides from across the singles, while CD2’s 16 tracks feature rare remixes, BBC recordings, alternate mixes and demos – with six of these unreleased until now. The band are currently celebrating the release of their eighteenth studio album,
The Neon, which went into the UK Official Albums Chart at #4, their highest chart position since I Say I Say I Say. October 2021 will see Erasure touring across the UK, Ireland, Germany and Denmark, kicking off at the Glasgow Armadillo auditorium on 1 October, with a London date at the O2 Arena on 17 October.
