Today sees West London producer and DJ p-rallel return with his new single ‘Believe’, featuring close collaborators Fredwave & Jeshi.

‘Believe’ is a melodic house number that’s glossy, vibey, and a promising sign of what’s to come from the multi-hyphenate in 2022. Propulsive baselines and shimmering synth pads dance behind smooth vocals designed for both the headphones and the dancefloor. Taking inspiration from Jay-Z’s iconic ‘Marcy Me’ video, the playful visuals follow a younger p-rallel discovering his passion for music, dreaming of his first club experience with nostalgic references to the noughties era.
Speaking on the track, p-rallel explains: “It’s quite mad because this song was the first song I made after my harddrive broke a while back, I was very stressed because I thought I had lost my whole EP… then I did a session with Fredwave, he was like “just believe in your craft”… then boom, this tune came out of it…I sat on the tune for a while but then revisited earlier this year, thought Jeshi would sound good on it & here you have it, Believe!”. Directors of the video, Ethan + Tom, also add: “We really wanted to capture a sense of nostalgia, transporting the audience back to a time when P-Rallel’s passion for music started. That feeling of first discovering something that you know there and then will be your life’s sole purpose.”
At just 21 years old, p-rallel has cultivated a reputation enviable to producers and creatives that far outweigh his years. As a teenager, he responded to Twitter callouts for studio engineers, and soon found himself manning the boards for Rejjie Snow and Playboi Carti, and then, at just 16 years old, running sessions in Lily Allen’s London studios and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Skepta and Julie Adenuga, who he now calls his mentors. Nowadays, he’s the go-to producer and DJ for alt-rap scene leaders including Louis Culture, Lord Apex, and Finn Foxell – operating together under the Elevation/Meditation banner – and has held down tour DJ duties for slowthai, Jeshi, and Lava La Rue.
Unphased by the pandemic, p-rallel has been riding a wave of success following the release of breakout singles with Greentea Peng (‘Soulboy‘), Venna (‘Westborn’) and Lauren Faith (‘Blue Denim Jeans’), released during last year’s lockdowns. He is revered in the industry, picking up press support from the likes of The FADER, Trench, Complex, Clash, The Face, Notion, Boiler Room + many more and garnered a wealth of plays across UK radio including Jack Saunders, Jamz Supernova, Annie Mac and Benji B. p-rallel recently put on a sold-out party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Basement where he brought a host of friends and fam on stage including some of the hottest names in the scene like Sainte, Kam-bu, Sam Wise & Montreal’s Skiifall. His DIY approach of championing similar artists marks him as a maverick of his generation, in part responsible for the changing face of London’s sonic and clubbing landscapes. In his own words, “you only get one come-up” and p-rallel is taking the time to enjoy his.
