Following the release of the Bills & Aches & Blues compilation, Maria Somerville shares her reworking of Pale Saints’ ‘Kinky Love’ today. Previously only available as a bonus track on the Bills & Aches & Blues Japanese edition the song is now available worldwide on all digital services.
Originally made famous by Nancy Sinatra, ‘Kinky Love’ was covered by Pale Saints as part of their 1991 Flesh Balloon EP. Maria Somerville’s version of ‘Seabird’ by Air Miami is also included in Bills & Aches & Blues.

As part of the anniversary celebrations 4AD has partnered with Fender to create a bespoke American Pro Jazzmaster II, artworked by Chris Bigg and Shanti Bell to reflect the beautiful Bills & Aches & Blues artwork. Bills & Aches & Blues features 18 of the 4AD’s current artists covering a song of their choosing from the label’s past: a creative experiment rooted in the spirit of collaboration and a snapshot of 4AD, 41 years after its inception. Available digitally and on standard vinyl and CD, the first 12 months’ profits from Bills & Aches & Blues will be donated to The Harmony Project, a Los Angeles-based after-school programme for children from communities and schools that lack equitable access to studying the arts or music
